Digging a Hole, (B&W): Promises of white gold compels this miner to dig dangerous, vertical, unsupported shafts, often to a depth of 8 meters with only a hammer and a piece of rebar, near Kuta Beach, Lombok Indonesia.

Poor men with no alternative opportunities of employment become miners and risk their lives daily, as they exhibit little skill and no safety precautions. The threat of danger was confirmed in this same hill side when two weeks prior a similar shaft collapsed and two lives were lost.
